Fixing welded wire mesh fence panels
A fence panel is only as good as the point where it meets the post: it has to hold against shifting, bending and being lifted out. Which fixing does that depends on the post profile and the panel height. This page compares the systems for double wire mesh panels and names the part for each case.
Systems
Which fixing suits which post?
The bracket grips the vertical wires of the panel and is bolted to the square post — the standard solution for double wire mesh panels. In our range: fixing plate FC001, 29 × 29 mm with a 9 mm hole, and fixing clamp FC002 with a 9 mm hole. Both stainless steel 1.4301, mounted with a socket head cap screw DIN 912 M8.
Connectors join two panels, or a panel and a post, quickly and securely. Front plate and back plate in stainless steel 1.4301; the square hole in the front plate stops the carriage bolt from turning. FC004 fits a mesh pitch of 35 mm, FC005 a mesh pitch of 50 mm.
Clamps that tie in the first and last panel of a run from the side. Edge fixing FC006 is for direct mounting on a post or on masonry; panel fixing FC009 is for direct mounting on masonry only. Both with a 5 mm hole for M4 screws, stainless steel 1.4301.
Posts and ground
Fixing by post type and ground
| Post or ground | Fixing | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Square post 60 × 40 mm | Clamp brackets bolted at the top, in the middle and at the bottom | Several points per post prevent the panel from bending or being lifted out |
| Post profile | Square rather than round | Our range is built for square posts. Round posts need clamps matched to the tube diameter; we do not carry those in the standard range |
| Concrete or foundation | Post set in concrete, or anchored to concrete with a base plate | The panel is then fixed to the post with clamp brackets as usual |
| Masonry or wall | Wall clamps for the first and last panel | Ties the end of a run into masonry or into an existing post from the side |
The mesh pitch decides between FC004 and FC005: 35 mm or 50 mm. Measure the existing panel before you order.
Corrosion protection
Material for permanent outdoor use
The standard choice for permanent outdoor use on a fence.
For aggressive or coastal environments and for visible bolted joints.
Match the material of panel, post and fixing to avoid galvanic corrosion. The clamps, plates and connectors listed above are stainless steel 1.4301.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What do I use to fix double wire mesh panels to the post?
On a square post the panel is held by a fixing plate FC001 or a fixing clamp FC002 — both stainless steel 1.4301, mounted with a socket head cap screw DIN 912 M8. The bracket grips the vertical wires of the panel and is bolted to the post. Round posts need clamps matched to the tube diameter; we do not carry those in the standard range.
Which post suits double wire mesh panels?
Square posts are the usual choice, for example 60 × 40 mm, with the panel bolted to them by clamp brackets. Our range is built for that.
How many fixing points per panel?
Several points per post as a rule — top, middle and bottom. The exact number depends on the panel height and the wind load.
How do panel connectors FC004 and FC005 differ?
By the mesh pitch of the fence panel: FC004 is for 35 mm, FC005 for 50 mm. Both consist of a front plate and a back plate in stainless steel 1.4301; the square hole in the front plate stops the carriage bolt from turning. Measure the existing panel before ordering.
Which corrosion protection for fence fixings?
Hot-dip galvanized for standard outdoor use, stainless steel for aggressive or coastal environments. Match the material of panel, post and fixing to avoid galvanic corrosion.
