How to choose a set
Two things decide. The grating determines the upper clamp, because its shape has to match the mesh. The bearer determines the lower clamp together with the screw length, because the screw has to bridge the grating height plus the bearer flange. A set that suits the grating but not the bearer will not close.
When to switch to individual parts
When an existing installation is extended, a single part is replaced, or a combination is needed that no set covers. The same four components are listed separately under individual parts; the guide grating clips shows which combination suits which grating.
Frequently asked questions
What does a grating fastener set contain?
The matched core components of a clamp fastening: upper clip or plate-type clip, lower clamp, screw and nut. In ARNELL's pre-assembled sets the nut is a DIN 557 square nut.
Does fastening a grating require drilling?
No. The clamp fastening pulls the upper and lower part against each other, clamping grating and bearer in between. Nothing is drilled or welded, and the grating remains removable.
When is a set better than individual parts?
For standard installations: the set is pre-assembled in the right quantity and saves compiling a parts list. For special solutions, additions and spare parts the same components are available individually.
Which bearer thicknesses are covered?
Various bearer flange thicknesses – determined by the choice of lower clamp and the screw length. Sets are available in galvanized steel and in stainless steel.
