Frequently asked questions
Which standard do the hexagon screws comply with?
The hexagon screws comply with DIN 933 / ISO 4017 – hexagon head with full thread up to the head. The partially threaded version with a shank to DIN 931 / ISO 4014 is available on request.
What is the difference between DIN 933 and ISO 4017?
It is the same screw. DIN 933 is the withdrawn national standard, ISO 4017 the valid international one; dimensions and head shape are identical. Both designations are used interchangeably in the trade.
Which dimensions and property classes are in stock?
In stock in this shop: M8 x 50 mm in steel 8.8 and M8 x 70 mm in steel 4.8, both hot-dip galvanized. From the ARNELL range on request: M5 to M24, steel 4.8 to 12.9, stainless steel 1.4301 and 1.4404, hot-dip galvanized, electroplated or plain.
Which surface finish do the screws have?
In stock hot-dip galvanized to DIN EN ISO 10684. Hot-dip galvanizing forms a metallurgically bonded zinc layer of typically 45 to 85 µm and is therefore more resistant than electroplating – suitable for permanent outdoor use. Important: a hot-dip galvanized screw requires a hot-dip galvanized nut with an adapted thread.
Are custom dimensions possible?
Yes. Custom dimensions and larger production runs are supplied by ARNELL on request – as a specialist supplier of fastening technology since 1943.
