Metric fixings and parts to drawing, for buyers in Canada
We are a manufacturer in Saxony, Germany. We are not a Canadian distributor and will not pretend to be one — what we offer is metric fixings to DIN and ISO, and stamped, formed and welded parts made to your drawing. We can quote it delivered duty paid to your address, so the import is not your problem to solve. If your drawing is metric, or your plant was built to European standards, this is a shorter route than it looks.
What we make
Three lines, one contact
Two of the three come off our own presses, with tools from our own tool shop. The third is standard parts to DIN and ISO, bought through inspected European sourcing and checked against the same criteria we apply to what we make. For a buyer that means one quotation and one shipment covering both halves of a bill of materials.
Upper and lower clamps, hook bolts and C-clips for steel grating. Hot-dip galvanized to ISO 1461, single types in stainless steel.
Fixing plates, clamps and panel connectors for double-wire mesh panels on square posts. Stainless steel 1.4301; coating colours on request.
Stamped, bent and formed parts, hook bolts in non-standard lengths, assemblies from flat and wire material.
Units
Metric as standard, imperial to drawing
Canada works in both systems, and this is the first thing worth settling. The catalogue range is metric: M8 is the thread most of it is built on, mesh pitches are given in millimetres, and the standards behind it are DIN and ISO. That suits a plant built to European drawings — mining, pulp and paper, energy, and machinery imported from Europe.
If your drawing is in inches, that is a question we can answer with a yes. UNC and UNF threads we make to drawing — to order rather than from stock, so it comes back as a quotation with a lead time rather than a shelf item. Stamped and formed parts are the same: an imperial drawing is as workable as a metric one, and nothing needs converting on your side.
North American grating is familiar territory, including the types where the mesh pitch is given in inches. Send the grating specification with the enquiry and we will tell you whether a standard upper part sits in it or whether it is a part to drawing — rather than shipping something that turns out to be a millimetre out.
Delivery
Getting it to your site
Most enquiries are quoted one of two ways. FCA Zittau, if you run your own forwarder and want the shipment in your hands from the works. Or delivered duty paid to your address in Canada, with customs clearance and the GST/HST at import handled on our side through our forwarder — the route most buyers prefer, because it turns an import into an ordinary delivery. Say in the enquiry which you work with; if you are not sure, we will quote both and you can compare.

Those are transit times, counted from when the goods leave. Parts made to drawing have a production time before that, and the quotation states the two separately rather than rolling them into one number. Freight is calculated for your destination instead of being charged as a general rate, so the enquiry needs the city and province.

Price, production time, transit and how the shipment would run — quoted for your destination rather than as a general rate. Technical questions are answered by people who work in the production.

One practical note on timing: we are in central Europe, and the office is staffed until 15:00 our time — 09:00 in Toronto, 06:00 in Vancouver. An enquiry sent during your morning reaches us in the afternoon, and written enquiries are answered within 24 hours, so the reply is usually waiting when you start the next day.

What helps us quote properly
None of this is mandatory — an enquiry with half of it is still welcome. But each line you can answer takes a round trip out of the conversation.
- Part — drawing, sample photo or the ARNELL part number.
- Quantity — per call-off and per year, if there is a year.
- Material and finish — steel and hot-dip galvanized, or stainless; a coating colour if it matters.
- Units — metric or imperial drawing.
- Destination and terms — city and province, FCA or delivered duty paid, and whether you have a freight forwarder you prefer.
- Documents — we issue works certificates 2.2 and inspection certificates 3.1 to EN 10204; say which your incoming inspection requires.
- Currency — we invoice in EUR or USD, whichever your purchasing works in.
