What is an upper clamp?
The part that engages the mesh of the grating from above and pulls it against the bearer. It is commonly called a grating clip or retaining clip. Together with the lower clamp, screw and nut it forms the complete clamp fastening.
What is the difference between a clip-type and a plate-type upper part?
The clip-type part is narrow and engages the mesh. The plate-type part has a wider bearing surface and distributes the clamping force; it may additionally carry anti-slip elements on its surface.
What is the vertical web on an upper part for?
It secures against shifting along the bearing bar direction – such upper parts are called safety clips and are intended for areas with a risk of falling. Applicable to welded, pressed and press-locked gratings.
What corrosion protection do the upper parts have?
For steel: hot-dip galvanizing, electroplating or Sendzimir-galvanized material. Stainless steel has proven itself for plastic gratings and frequently aggressive ambient conditions.
